MAY Writing Club: Cities of Stillness

Once a month, we gather for a special edition of the Desired Writing Club at a surprise urban location, coming together in silence to explore an urban topic through handwriting.

For our May session, we return to where it all began: the rooftop of Stoa Anatolis. Suspended above the city’s pulse, this space invites a different kind of attention—still, spacious, and attuned. Here, we’ll explore how presence reshapes the perception of a place.

What is the Desired Writing Club? 
One hour of silent, uninterrupted handwriting.

Who is it for?
You don’t need to be a writer. This gathering is open to 8 participants who wish to stay accountable to their writing desires. The editor of Desired Landscapes will set the tone and a timer, offering gentle guidance throughout.

Why do we write?
At Desired Landscapes, we use writing as a tool to understand places, deepen our thinking, and connect with both our inner voice and fellow writers. There will be no sharing of texts (unless you’d like to), but as the writing hour resumes, we’ll ease into conversation, exchanging emerging thoughts and connecting with other urban lovers who live in, or pass through, the city of Athens. 

Where?
On the rooftop of Stoa Anatolis – a secluded, silent space in the heart of the city, where we can truly focus.
