Desired Landscapes is a bookish magazine reading into a diverse mix of cities. A pocket-sized collection of person-to-place bonds, urban observations and poetic snapshots, seen through the eyes of people who write the stories of today’s cities. Every issue could be seen as a sort of a guidebook, which reflects upon the representation of the urban experience.
This research expands to walking lectures, urban workshops and further printed matter having the city as a source. Based on the mapping of our guidebook INTO STOAS, the walking tour ATHENS WALKTHROUGH runs all-year-long in Athens, and it is available for both locals and tourists. Next to that, we offer our expertise to institutions, universities, schools and companies for sample or tailor-made inquiries in more cities.
The magazine is published by [Street] (Design) [Words], a small publishing house with editions related to the notion of the city. Desired Landscapes is their latest brainchild. Founder Natassa Pappa, was born in Athens, and is a graphic designer currently teaching graphic design theory at Deree – The American College of Greece.
