Join us on Sunday, March 15th, at Kataïs Flower Shop, to spring into Spring with a special writing session designed to ground your creative voice.

While our regular Writing Clubs are silent at the rooftop of Stoa Anatolis, the special Desired Writing Clubs are site-specific, one-off, thematic experiences. Each time, I carefully choose a surprise urban location that reflects our topic and makes Athens feel like home, to offer editorial inspiration and group dialogue, and take your writing to a deeper level.

The Scenography: Kataïs
For this March edition, we are moving the desk to Kataïs in Koukaki. More than a flower shop, it’s a meeting point where nature, art, and community come together. We will write surrounded by curated greenery – a colorful, living backdrop to explore our theme: Cities & Roots.

The Writing Experience
The editor of Desired Landscapes will set the tone with a brief assignment, and then will set a timer for 1 hour of writing. There will be no sharing of texts (unless someone feels like it), but as the writing hour resumes, we will start to casually discuss emerging thoughts and connect with fellow writers and urban lovers who may live or pass by the city of Athens.

  • Introduction: Opening thoughts on the theme Cities & Roots.
  • Group Ideation: Introductory assignment, setting the tone for the session.
  • 1 Hour of Free Writing: A rare moment of stillness, intimacy, and digital detox.
  • Reflective Dialogue: A casual discussion of shared discoveries, to connect with the group and our true voice.
  • The Takeaway: A Desired notebook carrying your words and a root cutting to plant at home to symbolize your writing journey and keep you accountable.

* No writing experience is required. Whether you are a published author or haven't picked up a pen in years, this space is for you.
