Desired Writing Club: Cities as Vessels
Join us on Friday, April 24th, at Ēre Athens, to explore the city as a vessel for our urban stories. From the curated ceramics on the table to the words on your page, this session is designed to hold your creative voice.
While our regular Writing Clubs are silent at the rooftop of Stoa Anatolis, the special Desired Writing Clubs are site-specific, one-off, thematic experiences. Each time, I carefully choose a surprise urban location that reflects our topic and makes Athens feel like home, to offer editorial inspiration and group dialogue, and take your writing to a deeper level.

The Scenography: Ēre
For this April edition, we are moving the desk after work to Ēre in Koukaki. Part concept store, part pastry space, it is a venue that transforms a daily ritual into an aesthetic experience. Co-founder Dora Kalogirou will set the scene with a curated selection of local ceramics to inspire our "Cities as Vessels" brainstorm, while Ēre’s other half, Georgia Romanou, will fuel our writing session with herbal tea and her signature tahini bites.
The Writing Experience
Anastasia Pappa, the editor of Desired Landscapes will set the tone with a brief assignment, and then will set a timer for 1 hour of writing. There will be no sharing of texts (unless someone feels like it), but as the writing hour resumes, we will start to casually discuss emerging thoughts and connect with fellow writers and urban lovers who may live or pass by the city of Athens.
- Introduction: Opening thoughts on the theme Cities as Vessels.
- Group Ideation: Introductory assignment, setting the tone for the session.
- 1 Hour of Free Writing: A rare moment of stillness, intimacy, and digital detox.
- Reflective Dialogue: A casual discussion of shared discoveries, to connect with the group and our true voice.
-
The Takeaway: A Desired notebook carrying your words, forming the base for the month's writing.
* No writing experience is required. Whether you are a published author or haven't picked up a pen in years, this space is for you.
* Open to ALL ages, genders, and backgrounds!
> 6 Early bird tickets are available. First-come, first-served.
