A set of 8 postcards documenting fading typographic landscapes.

This is a collection of travel agency signs found around Athens, during our desired walks. Some don’t exist anymore, others are ghost signs for shut stores, and very few are still functioning.

Apart from all being traces of a lost city and
its commercial activity, they also share a sense of craft. Be it the way they follow the building’s facade, the spacing between type, or even the form
of the letter itself.

On some, the Greek type
borrows elements from the Latin alphabet, producing rare design statements awkward to the
Greek eye, while on others, unused, dormant glyphs remind us of our native script traditions.

Whichever the case, vernacular typography holds a piece of Athenian history.
